    Martin Luther 

  • Humanist 
  • He read the bible and studied it for himself.
  • He believed that the bible should be the true spiritual guide and not the church.
  • Martin Luther was very  upset with the church's wealth.
  • Martin Luther Did not a agree with the church selling Indulgences which was a certificate that said it would reduce your punishment for your sins after you died.
  • Luther wrote 'the ninety five these' and nailed it to the church door.which was Luther's protestant translation of the bible.That idea was spread through German, and that led to a new church called the 'Lutheran church'.
  • Luther was excommunicated and charged Hersey.
  • This all led to Catholic counter  reformation and the outcome was the priest's were better educated,and new religions were formed like the Jesuits.
Geography: Martin Luther went to live in the northern Europe after he got Excommunicated and charged heresy from the church.because of his beliefs was the bible should be the true spiritual guide and not the church.
Society: The church had all the power and no one was allowed to prove them wrong by experimenting or by asking question.or you would be Excommunicated or charged Heresy.
Values: people in the renaissance valued the printing press which was a technology that allowed ideas to be spread, and it was cheap,printed in many languages.  
Beliefs: The church believed that no one was allowed to experiment or ask questions.
Knowledge: people got their knowledge from famous renaissance scientists, thinkers like Leonardo da Vinci which were the 'superstars'of their day.
